In the spring of 1997 a group of four crossed the Sierra in the Sequoia / Kings Canyon region. Here is Hazen Babcock, descending to the Symmes Creek trailhead,
Dan Lyons, descending the east side of Milestone Pass,
Lee Fleming, standing on Coppermine Pass,
And me, standing at Shepherd's Pass, trying (in vain) to arrange our ride back across with a cell phone.
Here are some of the beautiful sights we enjoyed: below timberline (about to drop down to Pear Lake from the West);
at timberline (just above Lonely Lake and below Horn Peak);
above timberline (about to descend Finn Pass);
and from the air on our flight back (crossing back over Milestone Pass, 3960 m).
